Word # 1

Catastrophic (adjective)

Definition: disastrous / calamitous / Shattering / appalling / a sudden event that causes very great trouble or destruction / extremely harmful; bringing physical or financial ruin


Sentence: 1. The tornado that hit was completely catastrophic. 2. The catastrophic storm resulted in millions of injuries and deaths. 


Word # 2

Delineate (verb)

Definition: defined / described / mentioned / to describe or mark the edge of something / describe in vivid detail

Sentence: 1. The main characters are clearly delineated in the first chapter. 2. BIOS programs are delineated by version numbers. 3. On maps, different colors are used to delineate the territories of countries and states. 4. The state must delineate the environmental responsibilities of chemical companies.

Rigorous (adjective)

Definition: exact / precise / rigidly accurate / demanding strict attention to rules and procedures / careful to look at or consider every part of something to make certain it is correct or safe

Consolidate (verb)

Definition: merge / combine / unite / make firm or secure; strengthen / to become, or cause something to become, stronger and more certain

Sentence: 1. The president of the company believes that money will be saved if we consolidate the accounting and marketing departments. 2. She hoped that marriage would consolidate their relationship. 3. When I moved from a huge house to a small apartment, I had got rid of many household items and consolidate my belongings. 4.
