Word # 1

Meek (adjective)

Definition: humble / submissive / gentle / humble in spirit or manner


Sentence: 1. They were all quiet and meek. 2. The meek character refused to speak up for himself when someone addressed him rudely.


Word # 2

Timid (adjective)

Definition: nervous / shy / fearful / without much confidence; easily frightened

Sentence: 1. She's a timid child who seldom raises her hand to answer questions in class. 2. Our cat is so timid that it runs and hides every time someone visits us. 3. I'm timid when I try something new. 4. My horse is a bit timid and is easily frightened by traffic.


 

Word # 3

Homesick (adjective)

Definition: unhappy when you are away from home for a long time

Sentence: 1. As I read my mother's letter, I began to feel more and more homesick.



Word # 4

Integral (adjective)

Definition: essential / Vital / necessary and important as a part of, or contained within, a whole

Sentence: 1. Internet is now such an integral part of our day-to-day life. 2. The school secretaries play an integral part in the day to day activities at the school. 3. Fair elections are integral to the success of democracies. 


Word # 5

Equip (verb)

Definition: furnish / provide with (something) usually for a specific purpose / provide with abilities or understanding / to provide a person or a place with objects that are necessary for a particular purpose

Sentence: 1. My vocabulary lessons will equip and inspire you to write better short stories. 2. All the police officers were equipped with shields to defend themselves against the rioters.
